Like Hadi, as a QA Automation Engineer, William is vital when it comes to developing and maintaining automated testing scripts, and ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.
We find out more about William's career background, what exactly his role at Aproove involves, and what a typical day looks like for him!
What was your career path before joining the Aproove team?
Helping people has always been a core motivation in my career. Growing up, I dreamed of working in the video game industry, a field that fueled my passion and led me to study computer science and software engineering. Along the way, I discovered a talent for web development, which I pursued professionally. This background gave me a solid foundation in understanding user interactions and building interfaces, skills that overlap well with automated testing. When I encountered the QA Engineer role at Aproove, I saw an exciting opportunity to apply my technical expertise to ensure the quality of core features and functionality from the user’s perspective.
Can you describe your role at Aproove?
I'm part of a team dedicated to automating Aproove's quality assurance process. For every new feature or version release, we build testing pipelines to rigorously check each functionality, ensuring that Aproove consistently delivers software of the highest quality to our clients.
What attracted you to Aproove originally?
As I mentioned, I come from a web development background, and when I came across the open position at Aproove, I realized I could apply my existing skills in a completely new way. The role offered the perfect blend of challenge and growth—giving me the chance to gain new experiences while also honing and expanding the skills I already possessed. The prospect of leveraging my web development expertise to enhance quality assurance was both exciting and rewarding.
What do you like most about Aproove Work Management software? What is your favourite feature?!
What stands out to me is the versatility of Aproove. Initially, I assumed that everyone used our software in a similar way, but I quickly learned that's far from the case. Aproove is so highly configurable that nearly every client has a unique approach, utilizing different functionalities to meet almost any business scenario. This diversity in usage highlights just how powerful and flexible our platform truly is.
What is a typical day like for you? What are you currently working on?
Since I was hired recently, I'm still in the process of training on Aproove. Given the nature of my role, I need an in-depth understanding of the software, which takes time to develop. I’m currently participating in training seminars with clients, which not only help me expand my knowledge of Aproove but also allow me to observe how various clients use the software for different use cases. This experience gives me valuable insights into the versatility of Aproove and the diverse ways it can be configured to meet client needs.
As I grow into my role, I will be building out extensive automated test scenarios for both existing features and any new features introduced in the future. This will involve a multi-faceted approach, where I will also incorporate any new bugs into the automated tests to ensure they’re permanently fixed and do not reoccur, as all automated tests are run before every release. Due to the size and highly configurable nature of the Aproove platform, this will evolve into a vast library of automated tests that will require continuous maintenance and expansion
Anything exciting that we can look forward to development-wise for Aproove in 2025?
As a developer, I'm particularly excited about the expansion of our new Administrative tool, as well as our import and export tools. However, from a customer perspective, Aproove has a robust roadmap filled with new functionalities that will bring tremendous value to our end-users. These upcoming features are designed to enhance the user experience and further empower clients to leverage the platform's full potential.
